Period 8 house facing S2 with the Five Yellow at the front door in 2026

Mei-ling · Vancouver, Canada · 2026-07-28

The question

We moved into our house in 2012. It faces south, 179 degrees, so the calculator says Period 8, S2 facing, double 8 at the facing. In 2026 the annual Five Yellow lands in the south where our front door is. We planned to redo the porch this summer. Is that a problem, and what does the double 8 mean now that Period 9 has started?

The answer

Your natal chart

A Period 8 house facing S2 is the classic double star at the facing chart: both the mountain star 8 and the water star 8 arrive at the south palace, your front door. For twenty years this brought wealth (water 8) but placed the people-and-health star 8 in front of the house, where it needs open space and then a real mountain to be useful. The sitting palace in the north holds mountain 9 and water 7.

What Period 9 changes

Since 4 February 2024 the star 9 is the prosperous star and 8 has become the retiring star. Retiring is not dead: 8 still keeps its goodwill for another period, so your front door remains supportive. But the growth energy has moved. In your chart the water star 9 sits in the northeast and the mountain star 9 in the north (your sitting side). Activate the northeast with movement and light: a lamp, an aquarium or the main TV corner. Keep the north solid and quiet: a bookcase, a bed, no aquarium.

2026: the Five Yellow at the door

In the Bing Wu year the annual 5 Yellow lands in the south. The rule is simple: do not dig, hammer or open walls in that sector between February 2026 and February 2027. Combined with your natal 8-8, disturbing it risks turning the wealth spot into a hospital bill. Moving the porch renovation to spring 2027 (the annual 5 goes to the north then, so prepare cures for that side too) is the practical answer.

For the year:

  • Hang a six-rod metal wind chime or place a heavy brass bowl inside the door, and use white, grey or metallic tones on the porch. Metal drains the earth star 5.
  • No red decor and no bright spotlights at the door this year.
  • Keep the door well used; a quiet door with 5 on it does not receive the annual 8 arriving in the east for you to enjoy.

One more thing

Annual 3 sits in the west in 2026: avoid arguments over the western rooms, and keep a small red object there if that is where the home office is.
